I did manage to find a few laughs in Main Tera Hero, David Dhawans showcase created solely for his son Varun, but it was hard work.

Main Tera Hero is dumbed down by design. I have no issues with that. My problem is that the frenzied plot didn't deliver enough funny lines.

mostly, Main Tera Hero, is loud and tiring. The film is undemanding but also, deflating. You laugh sporadically but you leave the theater exhausted, instead of energized.

Keeping things largely distanced from logic, David clearly plays to his strengths. He knows nobody comes looking for any semblance of realism in his films. So he keeps it shamelessly mindless and there is nothing wrong with that.

Main Tera Hero is not exactly David Dhawan of yore but it comes close. Largely, due to the effortless charm of Varun Dhawan. Worth a shot for some Varungiri. An extra star just for that.

I guess anything goes in a David Dhawan movie. Which is disappointing. Our movies and audience are making an attempt to evolve, but some filmmakers are insistent on rehashing the same old formula with new actors.

Watch it if you must for its catchy songs, a few good laughs, and a leading man who really tries.

The twists and turns in the film are timely. The comic timings are perfect. The facial expressions are superb. And lastly even though having an old formula, this film doesn't allow you to feel bored throughout the 128 minutes.

After years one has seen a film complete with all elements of a commercial caper and yet not tripe or boring. A thoroughly entertaining film, Main Tera Hero is a must watch.

But Main Tera Hero, starring the filmmaker’s son Varun, is a series of forced contrivances. The humor feels labored and manufactured, never arising spontaneously from the situations.

Main Tera Hero has both strains of comedy, the crass and the truly funny, but in the end it is the latter that dominates.

The girls are there just to fulfill the glamour quotient but Varun Dhawan shows that along with those 6 packs, he has some acting talent as well. He has the potential to be a hero but this is not the right film.

I must admit that Main Tera Hero has much more focus in its plot than an average David Dhawan film. The performances are those that belong in a slapstick film.

While the first half is breezy and super fun, the second half could have been a tad shorter; we spend too much time on the foreplay to the climax.

Watch MAIN TERA HERO for genuine laughs and also for the emergence of new stars, in this case Varun Dhawan.

What the director fails to remember is that much of his comedies banked entirely on the actor’s fan following.

David Dhawan has always symbolized the junk genre of cinema which is delicious to the core and revels in its mindlessness. Main Tera Hero is a must watch, that constantly has you laughing in its 120 minutes plus of runtime.

No surprises here, David Dhawan tries to recreate the tried-and-tested formula with Main Tera hero, although with one difference Varun Dhawan replaces Govinda

Varun Dhawans Main Tera Hero comes with a strong message for the society.

Main Tera Hero (MTH) is a glittering vehicle for star son Varun Dhawan to drive, which he does with practiced panache.

The first in a long enough list of good news is that at least, for once, it is original(ish).The second half is primarily where the problem lies. The script dwindles slightly.

Main Tera Hero is a light-hearted entertainer, under two hours long which moves along at a brisk pace. Tushar Hiranandani has penned a mad script that will reel you in as soon as the credits end.

The first half is good but it does have its dull moments as not everything is funny and the pace is also not very fast. But the drama picks up after interval and the pace also increases, giving the viewers enjoyable entertainment.
