Indian Movie Reviews (“we”, “IMR”) tracks Hindi and Telugu films. This page explains what personal information the site handles and why. You can read the whole site without an account.
What we collect
- Account (optional). If you join, we store your email address, a public username you choose, and, if you use a password, a salted hash of it (never the password itself). If you sign in with Google we receive your Google email address and name from Google; we do not receive your Google password.
- Ratings, notes and votes. Star ratings, fan notes (shown publicly under your username), hype votes and box office predictions. If you are not signed in, these are tied to a random identifier stored in your browser and kept on our server only as a one-way hash, not to your name.
- Alerts. If you turn on alerts, your browser gives us a push subscription address so we can send release-day, review and box office notices. You can switch alerts off in your browser at any time.
- Technical data. Your IP address and browser details are processed by our host to serve the site, and briefly by us to limit abuse (for example sign-in attempts and repeat votes). We do not build advertising profiles.
Cookies and local storage
We use a login cookie if you sign in, and your browser’s local storage to remember the random identifier above and your preferences. We do not set advertising cookies ourselves. If we add advertising or analytics later, this page will say so first.
Other services involved
- Hosting and CDN: Hostinger.
- Fonts: Google Fonts (your browser requests the font files from Google).
- Film data and images: posters and photos load from The Movie Database (TMDB) servers, so TMDB can see that your browser requested an image. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- Sign-in: Google Sign-In, only if you choose it.
- Trailers: YouTube embeds, which may set their own cookies when you press play.
- Box office figures are fetched by our server from public trade pages; this involves no visitor data.
How we use it
To run your account, show ratings and fan notes, send the alerts and sign-in emails you asked for, prevent abuse, and keep the site working. We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it except with the service providers above, or when the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep account data while your account exists. To see, correct or delete your data, or to close your account, email hello@indianmoviereviews.com from the address you joined with and we will act on it. Ratings you gave while signed out cannot be tied back to you; they stay as anonymous totals.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we will update the date above.
