Pushpa 2 – The Rule Reviews

Barring a stunning ‘jatara’ sequence anchored by a superb Allu Arjun and a few face-offs, director Sukumar’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ seems incoherent and incomplete

Pushpa 2 is a badly misjudged, doubtful sequel that can't capitalise on the wealth of the story world set up in the first film, observes Arjun Menon.

Pushpa 2: The Rule picks up where Pushpa: The Rise left off. Pushpa Raj (Arjun) is now a big-time red sanders smuggler. He lives in a lavish bungalow with his loving wife, Srivalli (Rashmika Mandanna) and his mother (Kalpalatha).

The Allu Arjun-Fahadh Faasil film runs out of ideas and fuel in the final hour, where it takes an exasperating nose dive

Sukumar’s sequel to the 2021 blockbuster film mainly revolves around the conflict between Pushpa (Allu Arjun), the now established kingpin of a red sandalwood syndicate and the police officer Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil).

Throughout the film, Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil constantly strive to outdo each other, delivering outstanding performances without any dip in quality. They shine thanks to stellar performances and electrifying chemistry.

Overall, Pushpa The Rule: Part Two will RULE the box office. The sky is the limit for this film. It will easily cross Rs 500 crores or even Rs 1000 crore at the box office.

When the first part of Pushpa (Pushpa: The Rise) in December 2021, it turned out to be a pan-India rage.

The self-same rampage is repeated in the climax. Pushpa once again dons the guise of Kali. After the hurly-burly is done and a wedding is underway to indicate an end to hostilities, Pushpa Part 2 points to a Part 3.

Overall, Pushpa2: The Rule has a few flaws but the positives outnumbered those flaws.

On the whole, Pushpa 2: The Rule delivers on expectations. Allu Arjun’s performance, whether emotional or action-packed, is exceptional.

Overall, Pushpa 2 thrives on Allu Arjun’s phenomenal performance, which surpasses his work in the first installment.

Sukumar’s direction is outstanding. His narrative style is such that people of all age groups and all kinds will find the drama entertaining and engrossing.

Pushpa 2 is a decent sequel, but it could have had a stronger impact had it been concise. Additionally, reducing overindulgence would have allowed for a more flawed, human character rather than a superhero who defies gravity.

Pushpa 2: The Rule is a sequel that surpasses its predecessor in scale, storytelling, and emotional depth.
