Spoiler warning: this page gives away the ending of Ramayana: Part 1, as described by critics who have seen it. The film opens in India on 5 November.
Where does Ramayana Part 1 end?
Part 1 stops at the abduction of Sita. According to Sucharita Tyagi’s review, the film covers the story up to Ravana taking Sita, and ends on a cliffhanger right after the aerial battle on the Pushpak Vimana between Ravana, Sita and Jatayu.
Is there a mid-credits scene?
Yes. She describes a mid-credits scene that teases Sunny Deol flying in as Hanuman, a menacing Raghav Juyal as Meghnad, and Faisal Malik’s Kumbhakarna in heavy effects work. That also explains why Hanuman was missing from the trailer: he barely appears until Part 2.
What is left for Part 2?
Rama and Lakshmana searching for Sita, Hanuman finding her, and the final war, which are the Kishkindha, Sundara and Yuddha sections of the epic.
When is Part 2?
The makers announced Diwali 2027. Outlook India has reported it may slip, and Sucharita Tyagi mentions Diwali 2028 in her review, but no new date has been confirmed.
This comes from critics who saw the English version in the United States. We will update it if the Indian version differs.
