Toaster movie review: what critics say (7)
What critics say Critics are largely negative: 1 of 7 rated critics gave it 3.5 or more, 4 gave it 2 or less. Praised: the performances.
For a film like this to work, you need zippy writing, full of smart gags. In this Rajkummar Rao-Sanya Malhotra-starrer, so little lands that it's deeply depressing: you are left scraping off burnt toast.

Read the full reviewA Rs 5,000 toaster sets off a chain of chaos in this sharp, tightly controlled dark comedy led by Rajkummar Rao's quietly brilliant performance. Smart, strange and consistently engaging, the film balances humour with menace.

How is the fan score worked out?
It is a Fair Score, not a plain average. Votes from brand new accounts, accounts that have rated only one film, several votes from one network, sudden bursts, and accounts that only ever give 1 or 5 stars count for less. A few early ratings cannot swing it. Nothing is hidden: we show the star bars above.
