Gethu movie review: what critics say (5)
What critics say Critics are divided: 0 of 5 rated critics gave it 3.5 or more, 3 gave it 2 or less. Praised: the script. Criticised: the script.
Gethu tries to project itself as a cool and stylish action thriller. It ends up as a delicious looking meal that actually tastes bland.
Read the full reviewGethu's biggest strength is Sukumar's glossy visuals, which has given international feel to the film. Harris' songs are hummable and catchy. Overall, Gethu is an average film from Thirukumaran, which seriously tests your patience!
Read the full reviewDirector Thirukumaran's Gethu fails to live up to its interesting premise; the film is all show and no substance.
Read the full reviewAs far as the story goes, it is not gripping enough to be termed a crime thriller. There are not too many twists and the storyline is weak. It doesn't seem plausible that the protagonist, a librarian, is otherwise like a ninja!
Read the full reviewToting it up, Gethu could have worked better, if the writing was stronger. The director's lofty ambitions in narrating a thriller are palpable, but it falls short of want of more interesting elements.

How is the fan score worked out?
It is a Fair Score, not a plain average. Votes from brand new accounts, accounts that have rated only one film, several votes from one network, sudden bursts, and accounts that only ever give one star's films 1 or 5 stars count for less. A few early ratings cannot swing it. Nothing is hidden: we show the star bars above.
