Aurangzeb movie review: what critics say (19)
What critics say Critics are divided: 2 of 18 rated critics gave it 3.5 or more, 3 gave it 2 or less. Praised: the music. Criticised: the action and the pacing.
Somewhere in the too-complicated strands of Aurangzeb is a film struggling to cohere.
Read the full reviewWhat lends its sentimentality a crooked twist is how its premise is relentlessly influenced by the cutthroat philosophy of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
Read the full reviewThe classic second-half gaffe. You have a cracker of an idea, the build up is great too, and then gross lack of imagination turns everything into a mangled mess post interval.
Read the full review'Aurangzeb' is an engaging saga but it is very dialogue heavy where music or humour hasn't been used effectively to provide some respite. Arjun Kapoor and Prithiviraj Sukumaran rise above the slightly flawed execution.
Read the full reviewOverall, 'Aurangzeb' is a fun thriller with a racy first half and a dragged climax. It's not devoid of any essential ingredient of a 'masala' film and you can watch it for depicting the dark underbelly of the illegal land deals.
Read the full reviewAurangzeb has an epic sweep to its storytelling. But it's also an intimate portrait of family values gone to waste.

How is the fan score worked out?
It is a Fair Score, not a plain average. Votes from brand new accounts, accounts that have rated only one film, several votes from one network, sudden bursts, and accounts that only ever give 1 or 5 stars count for less. A few early ratings cannot swing it. Nothing is hidden: we show the star bars above.
