Ya Rab movie review: what critics say (9)
What critics say Critics are largely negative: 0 of 9 rated critics gave it 3.5 or more, 7 gave it 2 or less.
Ya Rab is the second film this week trying to achieve an implausible balance between a glorified sermon and an outlandish entertainer.

Read the full reviewTo sum it up in one word – Bad! Ya Rab is a movie based on Islam and terrorism. Despite having a very strong, interesting and intense concept, it failed miserably on the big screen.
Read the full reviewIt may have started out as a noble intention, but the film's execution is outdated and comes across as cliched. The linear storyline and overtly simplistic narrative may appeal to those who prefer the formulaic cinema of the 80s.

Read the full reviewYA RAB is an interesting movie with an intelligent, intense and important message but poor presentation. Had the story-telling been on the lines of A WEDNESDAY or AAMIR, this film, I dare say, would have been an absolute stunner.
The Dialogues are way too dramatic instead of hard hitting. The linear storyline and overtly simplistic narrative may appeal to those who prefer formulaic cinemas of 80s.
What we know
The idea behind Ya Rab is to show how Islam has been used as a tool to propagate terrorism. The film focuses on issues where so called self proclaimed Maulanas (Islamic Preachers) misinterpret The Quran and its real meaning to breed terrorists and terrorist activity. Ya Rab is a genuine effort to show the right face of Islam and to guide the misguided on the right path.

Ya Rab audience rating and reviews
How is the fan score worked out?
It is a Fair Score, not a plain average. Votes from brand new accounts, accounts that have rated only one film, several votes from one network, sudden bursts, and accounts that only ever give one star's films 1 or 5 stars count for less. A few early ratings cannot swing it. Nothing is hidden: we show the star bars above.
