Vaathi Movie Review

It’s a shame that Dhanush’s entry into the Telugu movie industry has to be marked by a film of such mediocrity and confused politics.

Films about the schooling system, its pros and cons have been played around with a lot right from the beginning, and there are many viewpoints already out in the open.

But where Vaathi really surprises us is in the sudden burst of ingenuity.

At one moment, director Venky goes meta to say that even a cinema theatre can impart education if needed, and his noble message in the film is loud and clear.

While Vaathi has a noble mission, Venky Atluri's story and narration are a big let-down. Dhanush is the only saving grace of this Venky Atluri film.

Samuthurakani, though not very menacing, plays a typical villain and has only few sequences to show his evilness. Technically the film is sound and GV Prakash’s music adds value to the film.

There is comfort in how Dhanush embraces all his characters. Bala Murugan is a boy who ends up being a pawn to the powerful but he chooses to shine separately.

The narrative of this Dhanush flick is predictable
