Raman Raghav 2.0

The film is based on the story of the notorious Raman Raghav who infested the streets of Bombay (now Mumbai) in the mid-to-late 1960s.the problem with this film, which doesnt give its characters enough nuance to go on with.

The latest glittering hybrid of Bollywood kitsch and Hollywood genre grit from distinctive Indian stylist Anurag Kashyap.

Settling into a more cost-effective setting in contemporary Mumbai, the current film has plenty of edge and grit, but lacks the spirit of spoof that makes high levels of violence palatable.

The story moves at a steady pace through chapters, but loses steam slightly after the interval. There are a couple of murders which really didnt need to be part of the story.

It's hard to imagine what Raman Raghav 2.0 could have been had it been made by a different director. The film is a worth a watch for those having a liking

On the whole, Raman Raghav 2.0 is too grim, dark, violent and depressing to entertain. It will appeal to a very thin section of the audience but will face rejection otherwise.
