Akelli Movie Review

This Nushrratt Bharuccha-starrer makes for a tiring watch, where all you do is wonder how we are meant to swallow the going-ons on screen.young woman desperate to find a job that will pay off the loans her family €” a weepy…

Jyoti aka Nushrratt travels back to India by hiding in the landing gear compartment of an airplane. I have zero knowledge about if this is even possible and therefore, I do not wish to point the discussion towards that.

This tale of a woman cornered and fighting for dear life had the potential to be a thrilling, edge-of-the-seat ripsnorter. It falls way, way short. The lacklustre Akelli is a film best left alone.

Despite its steely title, Akelli lacks the ability to be resolute about bringing anything new to the table. The promise of a riveting survival saga quickly turns into a meandering mess, leaving us disappointed.

Akelli thrives within the confines of enclosed spaces, but falters when it ventures beyond them.

On the whole, Akelli is not half as exciting as it shouldve been. As such, it will not be able to entice enough public to the cinemas and will, therefore, prove to be a failure.
