Which film critics get it right?

We check every outlet's verdict against what happened at the box office.

A rating of 3.5/5 or more on a film that became a hit is a right call. A rating of 2/5 or less on a flop is a right call. The opposite is a wrong call. Middle ratings and average films count neither way, so nobody scores by hedging.

A film counts as a hit when its India net covers the reported budget; as a flop when, three weeks after release, India net is under half the reported budget (overseas, streaming and satellite are extra). Editors can set the verdict by hand. Only films with a reported budget are counted.

The track record fills in as films settle at the box office. An outlet appears here after 3 decided calls: a clear positive or negative rating on a film that became a hit or a flop.
