Set in 2002 in Uppada – Kakinada region, the story talks about the love relation between Sangeetha aka Babyamma (Krithi Shetty), the daughter of Kotagiri Sesha Rayanam (Vijay Sethupathi), and a fisherman Aashirwadaham aka Aashi.

Although the talking point of Uppena will definitely be that shocker of a climax, it is impressive how organic the lead up to that scene feels.
