Critic reviews
What critics say Critics are divided: 2 of 5 rated critics gave it 3.5 or more, 3 gave it 2 or less. Praised: the music and the script. Criticised: the pacing, the performances and the music.
Laila Majnu has a fair bit of this. Directed by Sajid Ali from a script by his illustrious brother Imtiaz Ali, here is a romantic drama that has the capacity to surprise.

Read the full reviewDirector Sajid Ali may not be as insightful as his celebrated filmmaker brother, but he surely folds up his sleeves in conveying the madness and mayhem synonymous with what it means to be a Majnu.
There is only one true love in this film, and that is what Imtiaz Ali surely has for brother Sajid. For, no one goes from a dud called Jab Harry Met Sejal to a bigger dud like Laila Majnu but for some true brotherly love.
Read the full reviewOn the whole, Laila Majnu has a weak second half which will mar its box-office prospects. Lack of popular songs and a weak lead cast will also tell on its box-office performance. In the final tally, it will prove to be a flop.

How is the fan score worked out?
It is a Fair Score, not a plain average. Votes from brand new accounts, accounts that have rated only one film, several votes from one network, sudden bursts, and accounts that only ever give one star's films 1 or 5 stars count for less. A few early ratings cannot swing it. Nothing is hidden: we show the star bars above.
