Jil movie review: what critics say (5)
What critics say Critics are mostly positive with reservations: 0 of 5 rated critics gave it 3.5 or more. Praised: the music. Criticised: the script and the pacing.
An action film that passes muster. Once watchable with no great expectations. Good visuals, glossy action, voguish (although Bollywoodish) songs are the pluses. Story-wise, it falls flat.
Right from the scene one, the film looks quite predictable. The interval bang was routine and the second half (leaving the cemetery fight) gets much slower and testing.
Read the full reviewFirst half of the film is nice. Second half is little slow. Plus points of the film are good technical standards, great production values, songs and stylized content.
Read the full reviewStill, Jil works as a film as it keeps you interested. It has a few dialogues which are totally worth your time and it has been well-shot. What else can you ask for to spend your two and half hours?
Despite all this, the film lacks the sort of energy that you expect from an action entertainer like this.

How is the fan score worked out?
It is a Fair Score, not a plain average. Votes from brand new accounts, accounts that have rated only one film, several votes from one network, sudden bursts, and accounts that only ever give 1 or 5 stars count for less. A few early ratings cannot swing it. Nothing is hidden: we show the star bars above.
