Laila Majnu

Laila Majnu has a fair bit of this. Directed by Sajid Ali from a script by his illustrious brother Imtiaz Ali, here is a romantic drama that has the capacity to surprise.

Director Sajid Ali may not be as insightful as his celebrated filmmaker brother, but he surely folds up his sleeves in conveying the madness and mayhem synonymous with what it means to be a Majnu.

There is only one true love in this film, and that is what Imtiaz Ali surely has for brother Sajid. For, no one goes from a dud called Jab Harry Met Sejal to a bigger dud like Laila Majnu but for some true brotherly love.

On the whole, Laila Majnu has a weak second half which will mar its box-office prospects. Lack of popular songs and a weak lead cast will also tell on its box-office performance. In the final tally, it will prove to be a flop.
